Is content marketing old news?

I'm a big fan of content marketing. I think that, done intelligently and with purpose, it hands down beats all other options in B2B. Of course, as with anything gaining popularity, the danger is that we all hit the hype button and prescribe content marketing as the solution to every marketing problem. (How many times have we seen something like this in recent years?)

So it is sobering to reflect that content marketing isn't really new at all. Brands have been using content to sell their products and services for decades. It's just that we now have so many more options in how we create and share it than ever before. To reinforce this fact, check out the embedded video from Joe Pulizzi (original post here). It does a great job of placing it all into context.
